Server Side Tracking Setup

The way websites collect data is undergoing a fundamental shift. For over a decade, browser-based tracking dominated digital measurement — a JavaScript snippet in the browser sent user behaviour data directly to analytics and advertising platforms. That model is breaking down. Safari's Intelligent Tracking Prevention (ITP) deletes tracking cookies after 7 days. Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection blocks known tracking domains. Chrome continues to phase out third-party cookies. Ad blockers are installed on 30–40% of desktop browsers in many markets. The result: businesses relying solely on browser-based tags are missing 20–40% of their conversion data without knowing it. Server-side tracking solves this problem at the architectural level. Instead of firing tags from the user's browser — where ad blockers, browser privacy settings, and cookie restrictions all apply — your website sends events to your own server, which then forwards them to analytics and advertising platforms. Because the data flows from your server (not the user's browser), ad blockers cannot intercept it, ITP cannot restrict the cookies, and you have complete control over what data is shared with each platform. This setup allows your website to send a single, unified event stream to your tagging server, which then routes data to GA4, Google Ads, Meta Conversions API, TikTok Events API, and any other platform according to your configuration.
