Server-Side Event Deduplication

Prevent double-counted conversions with proper deduplication logic.

Implement event deduplication for server-side tracking to prevent double-counting conversions when both browser and server tags fire for the same event.

When you run both browser-side and server-side tags for the same conversion event, you risk counting the same conversion twice. This inflates your reported conversions, distorts ROAS calculations, and causes your Smart Bidding strategies to optimize based on incorrect data. Adslytics implements proper deduplication across all platforms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Deduplication prevents the same conversion event from being counted twice when it's sent by both a browser tag and a server-side API.
When you run both a browser conversion tag and a server-side conversion API, both can fire for the same user action, resulting in two events reaching the ad platform.
Meta matches events using an event_id. If two events (one from Pixel, one from CAPI) have the same event_id within a 48-hour window, Meta counts only one.
Google uses the GCLID and conversion time. We also implement the transaction_id field for purchase events to enable exact deduplication.
A unique identifier tied to the user action — order ID for purchases, session ID plus timestamp for leads.
If your reported conversions are significantly higher than your actual business results (orders, leads), deduplication is likely the cause.
GA4 deduplicates events using the client_id and event_name within a small time window, but for Measurement Protocol events we add explicit deduplication.
Conversion counts inflate, ROAS improves artificially, and your bidding strategies overspend on campaigns that appear to be performing better than they are.
We use platform-specific debug tools (Meta Test Events, Google Tag Assistant) and compare event counts over a monitoring period.
Yes — deduplication is always part of our server-side tracking implementations. We also offer it as a standalone fix.
