Server Side Conversion Tracking

Server side conversion tracking solves one of the most consequential data problems in performance marketing: advertising platforms receiving incomplete or inaccurate conversion signals because browser-based tracking is blocked, restricted by ITP, or degraded by third-party cookie limitations. When Google Ads Smart Bidding or Meta Advantage+ optimise on incomplete conversion data, they make systematically worse targeting decisions — spending on users who are less likely to convert based on the distorted picture of which users have converted in the past. Server side conversion tracking corrects this by sending conversion events from your infrastructure directly to advertising platform APIs, bypassing all browser-based restrictions and providing complete, accurate bidding signals. Our server side conversion tracking setup covers Google Ads via the Google Ads Conversion API (server-to-server) and Meta via the Conversions API (CAPI), both integrated through your server-side GTM container. For Google Ads, we configure enhanced conversion data (hashed email and phone number) alongside the server-side conversion event, maximising match rates for modelled conversions and offline attribution. For Meta, we configure event deduplication between browser-based Pixel events and CAPI events, ensuring conversions are counted once while coverage is maximised from both channels. We verify all server-side conversion setups with test purchases and cross-reference platform conversion counts against backend order data over a monitoring window, delivering a data quality report confirming accuracy.
