Server side analytics setup uses your own cloud infrastructure to collect and forward analytics events to GA4, bypassing the browser-based restrictions that degrade client-side analytics data quality. The case for server side analytics is compelling: in a world where Safari's ITP limits cookie storage to 7 days, Firefox's ETP blocks many analytics scripts, Chrome extensions prevent GA4 from loading on up to 30% of sessions for technical audiences, and users increasingly opt out of cookies — client-side GA4 data is systematically incomplete. Server side analytics setup recovers a significant portion of this missing data by routing collection through your infrastructure, where browser-based blocking has no effect. Our server side analytics setup service configures GA4 data collection through your server-side GTM container. Events generated by user interactions on your website are captured by the client-side GTM container and forwarded to your sGTM server endpoint via a first-party subdomain. The server-side container receives these events, processes them (applying any required transformations or enrichments), and forwards them to GA4 via the Measurement Protocol API. This server-to-server data transfer is not subject to browser blocking, and the first-party cookie set by your server persists for the full cookie duration configured in your server-side setup rather than the browser-reduced lifetime.
