This matters because the browser environment is increasingly hostile to client-side tracking: Safari limits cookie storage to 7 days (1 day for script-set cookies), ad blockers prevent 20–40% of analytics and advertising scripts from executing, and Chrome's Privacy Sandbox is removing the third-party cookie infrastructure that cross-site attribution depends on.
